ME LINE®

What is ME LINE®?

ME LINE® a customised and controlled chemical dermabrasion’ tailored specifically to the individuals skin type, pigmentation and or resurfacing concerns. It is typically an eight to 12 week treatment process aiming to lift away the top layer of dead skin cells and involves both at home and in clinic management. At home you are required to apply the specially formulated products as per your individualised treatment plan. While in clinic treatments involve at least two peels, approximately four weeks apart and if indicated needling sessions for those with deeper set pigmentation issues. The ME LINE® treatment ultimately aims to control pigmentation, decrease melanin production, promote renewal of skin cells, improve sun damage and even out the tone and colour of the skin.

(Six to eight months later we also recommend a third peel application however this is not included in the initial ME LINE® Treatment Course).

What makes ME LINE® special

ME LINE® has a unique formulation with active ingredients which target pigmentation at different levels. There is a maintenance product which supports continued melanin suppression applied weekly as a mask. The treatment process also involves the application of an occlusive emulsion which keeps water sealed inside your skin and therefore has a self moisturising effect.

What skin type can be treated with ME LINE®?

Both caucasian + ethnic skin types with hyperpigmentation and or acne-prone:

Hyperpigmentation results from increased melanin levels due to melanocyte hyperactivity. This is a sign of photo-aging of the skin due to excessive sun exposure. Melasma and/or Chloasma are a specific type of hyperpigmentation which can be very challenging to treat due to their tendency to recur. Good results can be achieved though and as with hyperpigmentation long term results depend on regular use of a high SPF sun screen.

Acne-prone (spotty) skin generally has increased sebum secretion, open pores and for many patients, redness or flushing (especially with fair skin). Controlled chemical dermabrasion can be an excellent help for patients with acne. (Chest and shoulder areas can be treated also).

What are the side-effects?

Red and flaky skin especially after the in clinic peel. (Peeling tends to start after 24 hours and can last for three to four days). Patients who have a stronger treatment may also experience swelling.

What aftercare precautions do I need to take after a ME LINE® peel?

It is vital that you protect your skin from further sun damage by using a high factor UVA/UVB sun cream every day. We can recommend suitable sunscreen products and also advise you on a skin care routine so to maintain your after peel complexion:
